Sailing Update

Dear Snowflakers,

We hope you’re all staying safe and well during lockdown.

Despite not being able to go sailing at the moment we still have a brilliant season planned and we’ll be ready to go when the restrictions are eased on private clubs. If you haven’t yet joined Snowflake Sailing Club it’s not too late to do so, membership applications can be made on line at www.sfsc.co.uk/pages/application.

The current guidance states the lockdown will be lifted on 2nd December, based on this we are planning to hold the previously postponed Yeoman Nationals on 5th and 6th December. Entry is still available online by visiting www.sfsc.co.uk/pages/yeoman-nationals-2020.

In addition to the Yeoman Nationals we have points racing throughout December, and what could be more exciting than our annual Boxing Day open regatta!!! Of course it will be slightly different this year, but it will be great to see as many of you on the water as possible. If you own a Yeoman and are looking for crew, or would like the opportunity to go for a sail, please let us know and we will help arrange this for you.

The New Year kicks off with Topper training and a Topper open event, as well as the Brundish Cup for keels on January 3rd. Should we need to rearrange the programme due to continuing restrictions, we shall do so to ensure there are plenty of sailing opportunities in the remainder of the season, for dinghies and keel boats alike.

Due to the success of last season’s Sailing School we are planning another 3 day event for February half-term 17th, 18th and 19th February. More information will be available soon but get the dates in your diary. As usual, if you have any questions do get in touch on sfsc1@hotmail.com.

Lastly, if you haven’t already done so, remember to check out our new regalia complete with brand new SFSC logo and personalisation available for hoodies, fleeces and flasks http://st-cyr.co.uk/product-category/snowflake-sailing-club. There’s still time to place your orders for Christmas and who wouldn’t love to find an item of Snowflake clothing in their stocking?!

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us during these challenging times. We look forward to seeing you all back on the water when we’re able to go sailing again.

As always, stay safe and look after yourselves.

Best wishes
Your SFSC Committee

Lockdown 2

Dear Snowflakers,

As you will be aware the new lockdown regulations came into effect earlier this week. Unfortunately, this means that for the duration of lockdown Snowflake Sailing Club will be closed and all sailing is cancelled.

Access to the Club grounds is not permitted, this includes both the island and the car park, and the launching of boats from the slipway, or use of the crane is not allowed.

The committee will be regularly monitoring the moorings to ensure all boats remain safe and secure. If you have any concerns about your boat or anything else you have stored at the Club, please contact us on sfsc1@hotmail.com

We will stay up to date with Government guidelines and post the latest information on our website, Facebook and Instagram pages. The RYA also has details of the current lockdown restrictions on their website https://www.rya.org.uk/knowledge-advice/current-

It goes without saying that we are very sad to have to close just as the season was getting started, and we very much hope that we are able to go sailing again in December.

In the mean-time, stay safe and look after yourselves.

Best wishes,
Your SFSC Committee
